Five Tool West concluded a position player workout at Texas Tech Saturday night.
Players ran 60s, threw from their respective positions and hit on Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
The top times and velocities have been released from the workout. Texas Stix 2020 Black’s Kevin Garcia (Richland HS 2020) recorded the best 60 time at 6.75s. Garcia also recorded the top outfield velocity at 88 MPH from right field. The top infield velocity was 83 MPH which ABA’s Noah Brewer (Rio Rancho HS 2020), LBA’s Jeb Jenkins (Amarillo HS 2019), and C3 Futures’ Jack Angus (V.R. Eaton 2019) all recorded. The top pop time was 2.01s which LBA’s Keanu Maldonado (Estacado HS 2020) recorded. And the top exit velocity went to LBA’s Jacob Gutierrez (Frenship HS 2020) who was recorded at 93 MPH.
Four players placed in each of their three respective categories: Garcia, ABA’s Nate Swarts (Piedra Vista HS 2019), NTX Eagles Elite’s Sam Haigwood (Allen HS 2019), and ABA’s Fernando Loera (Centennial HS 2019). Their highlight videos from the workout are at the bottom of the page.
