Texas Twelve Maroon 2022 were able to get the win against Stix 2022 Scout on Saturday evening and become the champions of the 2021 AABC Don Mattingly World Series.
They started swinging early at the plate, as Twelve Maroon scored one run in the first two innings of the game. Then they were able to open up the floodgates with four runs in the top half of the fourth inning.
Texas Twelve Maroon 2022 were not done yet as they were able to get one more run across the plate in the fifth inning.
Kaden Kent was able to help his team out at the plate as he went 1-4 with two RBIs. Justin Vossos went hitless but still was able to help his team by getting on base while drawing two walks. He also was rewarded with scoring two runs and having an RBI himself.
They were also able to get it done on the base paths as four different players collected a stolen base.
On the mound for Texas Twelve Maroon 2022 was Shane Sdao. The LHP threw five solid innings of baseball while only giving up one run with six strikeouts. The Texas A&M commit ended up getting the win and was named Player of the Game as well the Lincoln Hackim MVP for the tournament’s most outstanding player.
Brain Panneton was handed the baseball to get the last six outs. He was able to close out the game and secure the victory for his team.

Stix 2022 Scout’s only run of the day came on their only hit of the game as well. Kayden Voelkel was able to drive a home run over the right field fence to get his team on the board.
Texas Twelve Maroon 2022 received a berth to the Five Tool World Series in Farmington, New Mexico.
Texas Twelve Maroon 2022 head coach Randy Brown discussed with Five Tool what the experience of going to the Five Tool World Series will be like for him and his team.
“ It means a lot, I’ve heard a lot of good things. I’ve never experienced it for myself but I have heard a lot of good things about it and playing in front of a bunch of people and staying with a host family and I heard it is a big event and I think it is a great opportunity for the guys,” Brown said.
This was Twelve’s second Mattingly win which came in back-to-back years.
