Game Stories: Pudge Rodriguez World Classic (Semifinals and Championship)

Championship

After a perfect 7-0 run at the Pudge Rodriguez World Classic, Dulins Dodgers McGarrh were crowned as champions. The Dodgers were led by Jackson Burger who pitched a superb game on the hill. Burger tossed 4.1 innings and allowed only two runs (one earned) on three hits. He also collected seven punchouts. Josh Livingstone led the Dodgers offense as he launched a key home run and also tacked on a sacrifice fly. Texas Twelve Maroon’s Canon Chester added to his phenomenal week at the plate as he tacked on a double and two RBI in the losing effort.

Semifinals

In the National Bracket Semifinal, Texas Twelve Maroon continued to ride their hot bats as they defeated Dulins Dodgers Haygood, 8-1. Marshall Hale led the Twelve at the plate as we went 3-3 and earned player of the game honors. Hale racked up two doubles and scored twice as the Twelve coasted into the championship round Saturday evening.

In the American Bracket Semifinal, Dulins Dodgers McGarrh jumped out to an early lead over Academy Select Howard and went on to win, 7-3. Adam Eschler continued a dominant weekend on the bump as he allowed three runs on four hits in five innings of work. Eschler also added seven strikeouts as he led the Dodgers to the final round.
