Game Stories: Five Tool West World Series (Friday, August 6)

Amerige Park

In Game 1 from Amerige Park, PFA Matadors 2023 defeated Hit Club 16U, 5-2. Player of the game was Lucas Dixon who struck out seven over six and two-thirds. 

In Game 2 from Amerige Park, Trombly Tribe 2023 defeated Easton Prime 2023 Navy, 8-1. Player of the game was Trombly Tribe’s Matthew Morrell who struck out nine over six hitless. Hitter of the game was Trotter Enright who went 2-3 with two doubles and three runs batted in. 

In Game 3 from Amerige Park, CBA Marlins Victus defeated Academic Baseball, 13-2. Player of the game was Jerrad Gonzalez who went 2-3 with one double, one triple and four runs batted in. Also to note, Kaleb Latimer went 2-3 with one home run. 

In Game 4 from Amerige Park, Tomateros De California defeated AV Bulldogs, 6-5. Player of the game was Edgar Rosales who drove in two runs. Also to note, Josh Sotelo who went 3-3 with one double and one RBI. 

In Game 5 from Amerige Park, CBA Titans 2022 defeated Hit Club 17U Navy, 5-3. Player of the game was Eric Jeon who struck out six over three hitless. Hitter of the game was Cole Kenyon who went 2-3. 

In Game 6 from Amerige Park, Easton Prime 2022 Navy blanked West Coast Elite NorCal 2022, 7-0. Player of the game was Seth Cesena who drove in two runs. 

Biola U

Game 1 from Biola U resulted in a 3-3 tie between Easton Prime Desert and Beach City Prospects 2024. Player of the game was Rudy Aldana who went 2-3 and scored two runs. 

In Game 2 from Biola U, Beach City Prospects 2024 defeated Trosky Southern California AV 15U, 3-2. Player of the game was Kye DeChristopher who struck out five over three scoreless. Also to note, Nicholas Casanova went 2-2 with one double, one RBI and one run scored. 

In Game 3 from Biola U, 310 Baseball defeated OC Scorpions, 6-1. Player of the game was 310 Baseball’s Maddon McArthur who struck out 11 over six. 

In Game 4 from Biola U, 310 BASEBALL defeated Trombly Tribe 2024 Red, 6-4. Player of the game was Sonny Hurtado who went 4-4 with one double, two runs batted in and one run scored. Pitcher of the gaem was Nick Charles who struck out nine over six. 

In Game 5 from Biola U, Easton Prime 2024 Navy defeated Trombly Tribe 2024 Red, 8-4. Players of the game were Lance Armijo and Jonathan Schmidt. Armijo went 2-2 with one RBI and two runs scored. Schmidt went 1-2 with one triple, three runs batted in and two run scored. 

East LA College

In Game 1 from East LA College, So Cal Bombers 2023 blanked PFA Inland Empire, 9-0. Player of the game was Nick Allred who went 1-2 with one double and three runs batted in. 

In Game 2 from East LA College, Ventura County Baseball Academy defeated Easton Prime 2023 Red, 3-1. Player of the game was Ventura County Baseball Academy’s Cristian Brewster who struck out seven over seven. Brewster also went 2-2 with one double and two runs scored. 

In Game 3 from East LA College, So Cal Bombers 2023 defeated Ventura County Baseball Academy, 6-5. Player of the game was Carson Chavez who drove in three runs. 

In Game 4 from East LA College, Trosky Southern California AV 18U defeated Canes Vegas, 5-2. Player of the game was Cade Barry who struck out four over seven. 

Game 5 from East LA College resulted in a 1-1 tie between Canes Vegas and PFA Inland Empire 18U. Players of the game were Trevor McKendry and Bobby Alvarez. McKendry struck out nine over seven and Alvarez struck out six over seven. 

In Game 6 from East LA College, 18U MBA Nevada defeated Cal Sand Dawgs, 12-6. Player of the game was Brady Ballinger who struck out four over four scoreless. 

Great Park #8

In Game 1 from Great Park #8, CBA Titans 2024 defeated Force Baseball Club 15U Prime, 5-2. Player of the game was Cameron Trevino who struck out six over five. Hitter of the game was Fabian Ochoa who went 1-2 with one double, three runs batted in and one run scored. 

In Game 2 from Great Park #8, Trosky Southern California AV defeated Canes West 16U, 6-5. Player of the game was David Laranjo who went 2-3 with one double and one RBI. 

In Game 3 from Great Park #8, Force Baseball Club 15U Prime defeated BPA BLACK, 8-6. Player of the game was Prime’s Gabe Camacho who went 2-3 with one double, two runs batted in and one run scored. Pitcher of the game was Ashton McCurty who struck out five over two hitless. Also to note, Addison Klepsch who went 2-3 with two runs batted in and one run scored. 

In Game 4 from Great Park #8, Canes West 16U defeated Trombly Tribe 2023, 5-4. Player of the game was River Scott who struck out seven over five. Hitter of the game was Michael Macias who went 2-3 with one RBI. 

Great Park #9

In Game 1 from Great Park #9, So Cal Bombers 2024 defeated RC Bulldogs, 9-3. Player of the game was Jonas Ballesteros who hit one triple, drove in one run and scored one run. Pitcher of the game was Vicent Hudson who struck out four over four scoreless. 

In Game 2 from Great Park #9, Trosky National 2024 blanked RC Bulldogs, 2-0. Player of the game was Thomas Young who went 2-3 and drove in one run. Pitcher of the game was Evan Festa who struck out seven over five scoreless. 

In Game 3 from Great Park #9, Easton Prime 2024 Red defeated So Cal Bombers 2024, 6-3. Player of the game was Bombers’ Vincent Hudson who went 3-4 with one double and two runs batted in. Pitcher of the game was Kade Finazzo who struck out seven over five. 

In Game 4 from Great Park #9, Canes OC 2024 defeated BPA BLACK, 9-1. Player of the game was Finnegan Stewart who went 2-3 with one double and two runs batted in. Pitcher of the game was Walker Cavlo who struck out five over three scoreless. Also to note, Nolan Tillitt went 2-3 with one double and two runs batted in. 

Great Park #10

Game 1 from Great Park #10 resulted in a 2-2 tie between TB SoCal 2024 and Trombly Tribe 2024 Navy. Player of the game was TB SoCal’s Dylan Leoff who struck out six over five. Also to note, Antonio Lujan went 2-2 with one double. 

Game 2 from Great Park #10 resulted in a 4-4 tie between Trombly Tribe 2024 Navy and PFA Matadors White. Player of the game was David Mysza who went 2-3 with two runs batted in and one run scored. Also to note, Brandon Lutz and Travis Curry both struck out six over five

In Game 3 from Great Park #10, Next Level Baseball defeated TB SoCal 2024, 6-2. Player of the game was Diego Inocencio who struck out six over four hitless. Also to note, Tre Ross hit one double and drove in two runs. 

In Game 4 from Great Park #10, Trosky Southern California AV 15U blanked CBA Titans Gold 15U, 3-0. 

Great Park Stadium

In Game 1 from Great Park Stadium, HBG defeated Saddleback Cowboys, 2-1. Player of the game was Beau Sylvester who hit one double, drove in one run and scored one run. Pitchers of the game were Anthon Ahu-Fisher and Blade Paragas who both threw two hitless innings.

In Game 2 from Great Park Stadium, TB SoCal defeated NorCal Baseball Cardinals, 5-1. Player of the game was Kyle Becker who hit one double and drove in two runs. Also to note, Roman Martin hit one double and scored one run. 

In Game 3 from Great Park Stadium, HBG walked off TB SoCal, 4-3. Player of the game was HBG’s Reyn Matsuzaki who hit the walk-off RBI. 

Vanguard U

In Game 1 from Vanguard U, Next Level Baseball 17U defeated So Cal Bombers 2022, 4-2. Player of the game was Jordan Manzur who allowed two earned runs over seven. 

Game 2 from Vanguard U resulted in a 1-1 tie between San Diego Longhorns 2022 and Canes West. Player of the game was Luke Hanson who struck out eight over seven. 

In Game 3 from Vanguard U, Trombly Tribe 2022 defeated PFA Matadors 2022, 2-1. Player of the game was Michael Ebner who struck out seven over six. Hitter of the game was Jarrod Rowley who drove in one run. 

In Game 4 from Vanguard U, Trosky American 2022 defeated Empire Baseball Club, 8-1. Player of the game was Jack Pavlovksy who struck out seven over five. 

In Game 5 from Vanguard U, Bandits Baseball defeated CBA TITANS, 2-1. Player of the game was Jose Pacheco who struck out two over two and two-thirds.
