Five Tool Collegiate League Game Stories (Monday, June 29)

Houston

Premier Field 3

In Game 1 from Premier Field 3, Houston Heat topped AB Baseball/Performance Edge, 8-4. Camrin Wleczyk was named player of the game after striking out two in four innings of one-run baseball.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 3, Marucci Elite Texas outlasted Batter’s Box, 2-1. Jackson Rodriguez was named player of the game after striking out five in three innings of work. Also to note, Cam Caley struck out five in two, no-hit innings on the rubber.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 3, Marucci Elite Texas defeated Batter’s Box, 12-6. Levi Wells was named player of the game after allowing only one run and striking out the side twice. Also to note, Travis Phelps did not allow a hit and punched out four in two innings on the hill.

Premier Field 4

In Game 1 from Premier Field 4, Texas Bandits bested USA Prime Houston, 15-1. Court Cosco was named player of the game after launching a grand slam and and scoring twice. Also to note, Michael Cervantes blasted a home run.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 4, Texas Twelve Black shutout Lynx, 4-0. Logan Henderson, Logan Freeman, and Zac Childers were all named players of the game. All three pitchers combined for a total of 19 strikeouts and did not allow a hit in the dominant outing.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 4, Lynx blanked Texas Twelve Black, 2-0. Preston Potter was named player of the game after striking out three in five innings of work. Trevor Werner was named hitter of the game after blasting a home run. Cole Beddingfield struck out five in two scoreless innings of work.

Premier Field 5

In Game 1 from Premier Field 5, HP Baseball Crew outmatched Texas Twelve Maroon, 11-2, Jake Combs was fantastic on the mound and was named player of the game. Combs struck out a whopping 14 hitters after allowing back-to-back home runs to start the game. Combs cruised through six innings and blanked the Twelve in a dominant performance. Kaden Fikac was named hitter of the game after going 2-3 with a home run.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 5, HP Baseball Ruckert defeated Premier Baseball Futures, 9-7. Tyler Douglas was named player of the game after launching a key solo home run. Also to note, Cole Ketzner was 2-2 with a home run. Bryce Holmes for PBF also added a home run and reached via a walk.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 5, HP Baseball Ruckert and Premier Baseball Futures tied, 4-4.  Cole Ketzner was named player of the game after a big solo home run.  Bryce Holmes continued to mash at the plate as he tallied the game-tying home run. Also to note, HP’s Jaden Adams was 2-2 with a walk.

Premier Field 6

In Game 1 from Premier Field 6, Texas Lonestar Baseball outlasted Brazos Valley Renegades, 7-6. Brandon Andrews had a big afternoon at the plate and was named player of the game. Andrews tallied a double, a home run, and four RBI.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 6, Brazos Valley Renegades bested Texas Lonestar Baseball, 4-2. Nathan Phipps was named player of the game after going 2-3 at the dish. Phipps tacked on a home run and three key RBI for BVR.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 6, AB Baseball/Performance Edge defeated Houston Heat, 5-2. Clay Bradford had a nice night at the plate as he took home player of the game honors. Bradford was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI in the win.

Premier Field 7

In Game 1 from Premier Field 7, Premier Baseball and Off Season Baseball tied, 1-1. Cash McNicholas was named player of the game after a great day at the plate. McNicholas was 2-3 with two doubles and an RBI. Also to note, Dakota Palmer was lights out on the mound as he struck out seven in six, one-run innings of work.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 7, Off Season Baseball topped Premier Baseball, 6-5. Kenny Dutka impressed on the mound and earned player of the game. Dutka struck out seven and allowed only one run in four innings. Also to note, Dutka tacked on a key hit and RBI at the dish.

Premier Field 8

In Game 1 from Premier Field 8, HP Baseball Crew and Texas Twelve Maroon tied, 4-4. JT Mounce was named player of the game after going 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Evan Godwin continued to impress on the mound and was named pitcher of the game. Godwin surrendered only one hit and struck out seven in 3.2 innings.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 8, Texas Bandits defeated USA Prime Houston, 11-1. Michael Cervantes continued his hot day in the box and was named player of the game. Cervantes was 3-4 with a double, three RBI and a stolen base. Anthony Rivenbark was named pitcher of the game after striking out five in four innings. Rivenbark also was 2-3 with a double and two RBI at the plate.

North Texas

Railroaders

In Game 1 from Railroaders, Arlington A’s defeated Chancellor’s Team, 9-5. Ryan McCaskill was named player of the game after going 2-2 with a double and two RBI. Also to note, Mason Greer tallied two hit and racked up four RBI.

In Game 2 from Railroaders, Chancellor’s Team outmatched Arlington A’s, 10-1. Cody Masters had a great day at the dish and was named player of the game. Masters was 3-4 with a home run, two RBI, and two runs scored as he led Chancellor’s Team to victory.

In Game 3 from Railroaders, Dallas Tigers Preston outlasted Stix Collegiate, 7-6. Dillon Carter was named player of the game after filling up the stat sheet. Carter was 2-4 with a triple, two RBI, a run scored, and a hit by pitch as he led the Tigers offense in the win.

In Game 4 from Railroaders, Stix Collegiate outlasted Dallas Tigers Preston, 7-6. Colby Ferris was named player of the game for his late inning heroics. Ferris was 1-1 and tallied the game winning hit to lift Stix over the Tigers.

Z-Plex Bishop

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Bishop, Richard Austin Baseball Cannons outlasted Stix 2020 Ray, 3-2. Jacob Crabtree had an excellent outing on the mound and was named player of the game. Crabtree allowed only one run on two hits and racked up seven strikeouts in five innings.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Bishop, Richard Austin Baseball Cannons bested Stix 2020 Ray, 6-2. Noah Brewer was named player of the game after going 2-4 at the dish. Brewer tallied a double, an RBI, and two runs. Hayden Calkins was named pitcher of the game after striking out four in three innings of work.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Bishop, Stix 2020 Turner shutout ZT Elite NTX Gray, 5-0. Hunter Estill was name player of the game after allowing only one hit and punching out six in three shutout innings. Also to note, Andrew Damin struck out three in 2.1 innings of work.

In Game 4 from Z-Plex Bishop, Stix 2020 Turner blanked ZT Elite NTX Gray, 11-0. Colby Kroutil was electric at the plate and was named player of the game. Kroutil was 3-3 with a double, home run, and two RBI. Ethan Mann was named pitcher of the game after striking out four and allowing only one hit in four scoreless innings.

Z-Plex Hogan

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Hogan, NTXBC Dirtbags bested Texas Oilers Baseball, 4-2. Brayden McCallister was named player of the game after striking out five and allowing only one hit in three scoreless innings of work. Sean Klein was named hitter of the game after tallying a double and also reach base via a hit by pitch and a walk. Also to note, Story Kimura struck out seven in three innings on the hill.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Hogan, Academy Select Baseball and USA Prime DFW tied, 5-5. Logan Kohler was named player of the game after going 2-3 with a home run and two RBI. Also to note, Kendall Pettis tallied a solo home run. Jared Martin was 2-3 with a double and an RBI as well.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Hogan, Academy Select Baseball topped USA Prime DFW, 2-0. Lance Russell was named player of the game after going 2-2 with a home run and an RBI. Tim Wynia tossed four innings and surrendered only two hits. Wynia also struck out five and did not allow a run.

Z-Plex Judson

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Judson, Impact Baseball Club bested Dallas Patriots 2020, 9-4. Kalen Haynes was named player of the game after going 2-3 with a mammoth home run and two RBI. Cole Van Poppel was named pitcher of the game after striking out five in three innings. Also to note, Alex Gonzales was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Judson, Impact Baseball Club topped Dallas Patriots 2020, 9-3. Jayvien Joseph was named player of the game after tallying a base hit and three key RBI. Thomas Wrehe was named pitcher of the game after striking out two in four scoreless innings of work. Also to note, Cade Manning added a home run and two RBI.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Judson, 5 Star Performance outmatched Texas Oilers Baseball, 14-2. Dalton Davis was named player of the game after a big afternoon at the dish. Davis was 2-3 with a double, home run, and three RBI. Adam Davis was named pitcher of the game after five strong innings of work. Also to note, Brayden Johnson was 2-3 with a double and two RBI.

In Game 4 from Z-Plex Judson, NTXBC Dirtbags and 5 Star Performance tied, 2-2. Brayden Johnson was named player of the game after tallying three singles and two RBI. Micah Berens was named pitcher of the game after striking out none in five dominant innings of work. Also to note, Brock Weber tacked on a key RBI double.

Z-Plex Williams

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Williams, Ropes Florence beat North Texas Longhorns Boddie, 10-4. Sean Monsour was named player of the game after going 2-4 with a home run and an RBI. Jack Hagan was named pitcher of the game after striking out three in five scoreless innings of work. Also to note, Wyatt Doty and Jack Brinkley each added a home run and three RBI on the day.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Williams, Ropes Florence defeated North Texas Longhorns Boddie, 9-6. Ben Abeldt had a big day at the dish as he took home player of the game honors. Abeldt was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and four RBI. Wyatt Doty was named pitcher of the game after striking out two and allowing only one hit and three innings on the rubber. Also to note, Chase Peterson tacked on a solo home run.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Williams, Dallas Tigers Lawrence bested 5 Star Performance 2020, 10-4. Hunter Prescher was named player of the game after going 2-2 with a double, two RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Blake Anderson earned pitcher of the game as he allowed only one hit and struck out five over the course of three shutout innings.

In Game 4 from Z-Plex Williams, 5 Star Performance 2020 topped Dallas Tigers Lawrence, 3-1. Nolan Cox was named player of the game after allowing only one run on four hits. Cox hurled five innings and struck out six. Gage Goddard was named pitcher of the game after notching a two inning save and striking out four.
