Five Tool Collegiate League Game Stories (Monday, July 20)

Houston

Premier Field 3

In Game 1 from Premier Field 3, Lynx and Premier Baseball tied, 0-0. Logan Letney looked good on the mound and was named player of the game. Letney did not allow a run and struck out seven in five innings of work.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 3, Lynx bested Premier Baseball, 13-4. Eric Oakes carried the Lynx to victory and was named player of the game. Oakes blasted a home run on the evening and also tacked on five RBI.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 3, HP Baseball Crew blanked Extreme Heat, 1-0. Jake Combs was his usual dominant self on the mound and was named player of the game. Combs allowed only one hit and struck out eight in six innings of work.

Premier Field 4

In Game 1 from Premier Field 4, Extreme Heat defeated HP Baseball Crew, 2-1. Reed Smith was excellent on the mound and was named player of the game. Smith racked up 10 strikeouts and allowed only two hits in five scoreless innings of work. Also to note, Daniel Nelson struck out four in four innings.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 4,  Texas Lonestar Baseball bested Texas Twelve Maroon, 2-1. Chris Scott was electric on the mound as he tossed a seven inning complete game and took home player of the game. Scott collected nine strikeouts and limited the Twelve’s offense to only three hits. Dru Baker was named hitter of the game after going 2-3 with a double and an RBI.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 4, Texas Twelve Maroon outmatched Texas Lonestar Baseball, 12-2. Dru Baker lit it up at the plate and was named player of the game. Baker was 4-4 with a double, two RBI, and two runs scored. Tim Ewald led the way on the mound and was named pitcher of the game. Ewald surrendered only one hit and struck out seven in four scoreless innings of work.

Premier Field 5

In Game 1 from Premier Field 5, HP Baseball Ruckert blanked AB Baseball/Performance Edge, 4-0. Michael Barta cruised through six strong innings and was named player of the game. Barta allowed only two hits and racked up seven punchouts in six innings of work. Cole Ketzner looked good at the plate as he tallied an RBI double and also drew a walk. Also to note, Diego Longoria added a solo home run.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 5, Brazos Valley Renegades topped USA Prime Houston, 11-6. Kevin Black was a force at the plate and was named player of the game. Black was 2-3 with a triple, home run, and three RBI. Konway Baird was named hitter of the game after going 2-2 with two doubles, an RBI, and two walks. Colby Wyers was excellent in relief as he struck out eight in 3.1 innings and took home pitcher of the game. Also to note, Jason Brown was 2-4 with a double and two RBI.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 5, Brazos Valley Renegades defeated USA Prime Houston, 9-5. Kevin Black continued his hot day at the plate and picked up his second player of the game honor in as many games. Black was 2-3 with a two-run home run. Paul Villarreal was named hitter of the game after kicking the game off with a leadoff home run and also tallying a triple in the same inning. Also to note, Connor Fremin was 2-2 with a double and two walks.

Premier Field 6

In Game 1 from Premier Field 6, Texas Bandits outmatched Houston Heat, 11-4. Casey Fowler had himself a heck of a day at the plate and was named player of the game. Fowler belted two home runs and picked up four RBI as he led the Bandits to victory.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 6, Texas Bandits topped Houston Heat. 11-2. Casey Fowler was once again named player of the game after going 2-2 at the dish. Fowler belted his third home run of the day and drove in three runs to carry the Bandits offense.

In Game 3 from Premier Field 6, Texas Twelve Black bested Batter’s Box, 3-2. Drew Leach was named player of the game after a dominant outing on the bump. Leach did not allow a hit and struck out seven in five innings of work.

Premier Field 7

In Game 1 from Premier Field 7, Premier Baseball Futures outmatched Off Season Baseball, 11-2, Reed Chumley continued to swing a hot bat and was named player of the game. Chumley was 2-3 with a double, home run, and three RBI. Brock Holmes picked up pitcher of the game after striking out seven and allowing only two hits in three innings of work. Also to note, James Starnes was 2-3 with a double, home run, and three RBI.

In Game 2 from Premier Field 7, Premier Baseball Futures outlasted Off Season Baseball, 3-1. Tristan McCraw was unhittable and took home player of the game. McCraw tossed a seven inning complete game and racked up 13 punchouts. Monray Van der Walt was named hitter of the game after going 2-2 with a double and an RBI.

Premier Field 8

In Game 1 from Premier Field 8, Texas Twelve Black defeated Batter’s Box, 7-4. Ben Dukes was named player of the game after going 2-3 with a double, RBI, and a run scored, Also to note, Ricky Requejo was 1-3 with two key RBI.

North Texas

Railroaders

In Game 1 from Railroaders, Arlington A’s bested Dallas Patriots, 7-2. JD Gregson was named player of the game after an impressive 2-3 day at the plate. Gregson belted a home run, ripped a double, scored twice, and drove in two runs to lead the way for the A’s.

In Game 2 from Railroaders, Arlington A’s blanked Dallas Patriots, 5-0. Eric Walker led the way on the mound and was named player of the game. Walker did not allow a hit and struck out six in four dominant innings of work. Also to note, Jerry Davis was named hitter of the game after going 2-3 with a home run and four RBI.

In Game 3 from Railroaders, Academy Select Baseball shutout Stix 2020 Turner, 11-0. Nathan Hawkins was superb on the bump and was named player of the game. Hawkins allowed only four hits and struck out eight in five scoreless innings of work. At the plate, Jared Martin was awarded hitter of the game after going 3-4 with two doubles and three RBI.

In Game 4 from Railroaders,  Academy Select Baseball outmatched Stix 2020 Turner, 7-0. Tim Wynia was named player of the game after striking out nine in five innings of work. Wynia did not surrender a run and allowed only three hits. Cal Strandt led the way at the plate and was named hitter of the game. Strandt was 2-4 with a triple, RBI, and two runs scored.

Z-Plex Bishop

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Bishop, Phenom 2020 blanked North Texas Longhorns Boddie, 3-0. Isaiah Rhodes was named player of the game after a stellar outing on the bump. Rhodes allowed only two hits and struck out nine in 5.2 scoreless innings of work. Andrew Przyboroski was named hitter of the game after blasting two doubles and scoring twice. Kyle Mosley was superb on the mound as well as he struck out 11 in six innings. Also to note, Blake Sacharko was 2-3 with two RBI.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Bishop, Phenom 2020 shutout North Texas Longhorns Boddie, 1-0. Chandler David led the way on the mound and was named player of the game. David allowed only one hit and struck out nine in five scoreless innings of work. Caden Bonds was named hitter of the game after providing the only offense in the game with an RBI double. Also to note, Kyler Heyne worked well on the mound as he allowed only two hits in 6.1 innings.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Bishop, Impact Baseball Club defeated Dallas Tigers Lawrence, 7-1. Jeffrey Worley lit it up at the plate and was named player of the game Worley was 3-4 with a double, triple, and two RBI. Cole Van Poppel turned out a solid performance on the mound and was named pitcher of the game. Poppel allowed only one run and struck out four in four innings of work. Also to note, Garrett Williams was 3-4 with a double and an RBI.

In Game 4 from Z-Plex Bishop, Impact Baseball Club outlasted Dallas Tigers Lawrence, 2-0. Drew Henderson was magnificent on the mound and was named player of the game. Henderson struck out eight in five scoreless innings of work. Garrett Williams was named hitter of the game after smashing a key RBI double. Also to note Thomas Kuykendall and Nick Perry each turned out good performances on the mound. Kuykendall allowed only one hit in four innings while Perry racked up five strikeouts in two.

Z-Plex Hogan

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Hogan, Richard Austin Baseball topped ZT Elite NTX Gray, 9-2. Jacob Crabtree was electric on the bump and took home player of the game honors. Crabtree tossed a complete game and racked up 11 strikeouts while surrendering only two runs on five hits. Also to note, Ronaldo Ramirez notched a double.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Hogan, 5 Star Performance bested Dallas Patriots 2020, 5-3. Cooper Rawls earned player of the game after striking out four in five innings of work. Brayden Johnson was named hitter of the game after going 2-3 and collecting an RBI. Also to note, Tres Thomas and Cade Manning each recorded a double on the afternoon.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Hogan, Dallas Patriots 2020 outlasted 5 Star Performance, 6-2. Nick Neibur looked good on the bump and took home player of the game. Niebur struck out six in three innings of work. Grant Golomb was named hitter of the game after driving in two runs. Dre Jones and Dalton Davis each showed off some speed as they tallied a triple apiece. Also to note, Aiden Medolia was 1-3 with two RBI.

Z-Plex Judson

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Judson, USA Prime DFW and Chancellor’s Team tied, 4-4. Zack Vooletich was named player of the game after launching a home run, driving in two runs, and scoring twice. Also to note, TJ Rumfield was 1-1 with two key RBI.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Judson, Chancellor’s Team outlasted USA Prime DFW, 5-4. Will Frizzell was named player of the game after leading the way at the plate. Frizzell tallied a key home run and also scored twice. Chase Hampton was named pitcher of the game aftre striking out five in two innings of work. Also to note, Eason Murrell was 2-2 with two key RBI.

Z-Plex Williams

In Game 1 from Z-Plex Williams, NTXBC Dirtbags outlasted Dallas Tigers Preston, 8-7. Matt Marlow was named player of the game after going 2-3 with a home run and four RBI. Braden McAllister was named pitcher of the game after striking out two in 3.1 innings of work. Also to note, Dillon Carter belted a home run, drove in two runs, and also reached base via three walks.

In Game 2 from Z-Plex Williams, NTXBC Dirtbags blanked Dallas Tigers Preston, 14-0. Sean Klein earned a share of player of the game after going 2-3 at the plate. Klein blasted a home run and drove in three runs. Jose Luna also took home a share of player of the game after belting a home run and collecting three RBI. Micah Berens impressed on the mound and was named pitcher of the game. Berens allowed only two hits and struck out seven in five innings of work. Also to note, Matt Marlow was 2-4 with a double and two RBI.

In Game 3 from Z-Plex Williams, Texas Oilers Baseball and 5 Star Performance 2020 tied. 7-7. Gage Goddard was named player of the game and launching two home runs and driving in three runs. Robert Hodges looked good at the plate as he went 3-4 with a double, Also to note, Pete Panko and Hunter O’Shea eached added a double on the afternoon.

In Game 4 from Z-Plex Williams,  Texas Oilers Baseball bested 5 Star Performance, 5-2. Brendan Moore was lights out on the mound as he struck out nine in four innings of work and earned player of the game honors. Wyatt Tucker was not to be outdone as he racked up nine strikeouts in only three innings of work. Also to note, Josh Freeman was 1-3 with a double and two RBI.

South Texas

Triple Play Field 3

In Game 1 from Triple Play Field 3, Canes Southwest Collegiate Gold blanked Canes Southwest College Black, 1-0. Cameron Bush was his usual dominant self on the mound and was named player of the game. Bush allowed only two hits and struck out five in three innings of work.

In Game 2 from Triple Play Field 3, Canes Southwest Collegiate Gold shutout Canes Southwest College Black, 2-0. Caden Norman was named player of the game after going 1-2 with a double, two RBI, and a walk.

In Game 3 from Triple Play Field 3, Austin Powers topped GPS Legends, 6-2. Christopher Coffey was named player of the game after going 1-3 with a home run and three RBI. Evan McDonald looked good at the plate as he tallied two hits and stole a base. Also to note, GPS Legends’ Noah Thompson was 3-3 with a stolen base.

In Game 4 from Triple Play Field 3, Austin Powers outlasted GPS Legends, 7-6. Chase Evans continued to impress at the plate and was named player of the game. Evans was 2-3 with a double, home run, and four RBI to lead the way for Austin Powers.
