Prospects 17U Carpenter’s Sawyer Duddleston had a weekend for the ages in the Five Tool Southeast Arkansas Show. The 2020 Arkansas Tech signee from Shiloh Christian (AR) led his team all the way to the 17U title after showcasing some ridiculous power. The RHH hit a staggering six home runs in five games and proved to be a very tough out at the plate. Duddleston also highlighted his clutch gene as he hit two game-tying home runs to keep his team alive in Sunday night’s thriller. Expect big things at Arkansas Tech from this one.

Vendetta Baseball 16U’s Jorge Rodriguez was a key piece of their run to the championship game in the Five Tool South Texas Summer event. The uncommitted 2021 from Puerto Rico Baseball Academy (PR) hit the ball all over the yard and put his big time power on display. The RHH has great size and a very powerful lower half that allows him to put a charge into the ball each at bat. Rodriguez is a very intriguing prospect that jumped onto the scene this weekend. Keep an eye on this one as he heads into his senior year of high school.

Sandlot OKC Mitzner’s Caden Powell showed why he is one of the most talented players in the 2022 class this weekend at the Five Tool Oklahoma Showdown. The 2022 Oklahoma University commit from Clinton (OK) was a force at the dish and drove the ball to all fields extremely well. The RHH has a violent swing and looks to do damage each and every time he steps to the plate. Powell has a short, quick bat and will only continue to grow into his athletic frame. Continue to watch this dude over the next coming summer. He will only get stronger and fine tune his tools at the plate.

It wouldn’t be a Dudes of the Weekend without a player from the stacked Texas Twelve Maroon 16U team. Jace LaViolette put on a show at the Five Tool 15U-16U Championships as seven of his eight hits went for extra-bases. The 2022 LSU commit from Tompkins (TX) absolutely crushed the ball and proved that he is a legit middle of the order dude that can put up staggering RBI numbers. The sweet-swinging lefty is an imposing presence at the plate and has very few holes in a polished swing. Make sure to keep your car a safe distance from the field when LaViolette steps to the plate as he may just put one through a windshield. Keep an eye on this one as he adds even more power to an already impressive frame.

BVR 18’s Bryce Sitka had a heck of a weekend at the Five Tool Texas 18U Open Satellite Series. The 2020 Paris JC signee from Victoria West (TX) led the way at the plate and kickstarted BVR 18’s potent offense. The RHH set the table for the middle of the order and also showcased rare power out of the lead off spot. Sitka had a nice compact swing and looks to make loud contact in the box. Watch for this dude to make some serious noise this spring as he begins his freshman season at Paris JC.

AB National Baseball 18U Ina’s Drew Woodcox was an on-base machine at the Five Tool Texas 18U Open Satellite Series. The 2020 Texas Tech signee was a key part of AB National Baseball’s run to the championship game this past weekend. Woodcox highlighted power to all fields but also proved to be very patient at the dish as he drew eight walks. The RHH uses a small leg kick in his load to generate power and time up opposing pitchers. Woodcox is going to be a name to know for Big 12 baseball fans this upcoming spring as he makes his debut in a loaded 2020 Texas Tech recruiting class.

AB National Baseball 18U Ina’s Cyrus Twaddle formed quite the one-two punch with fellow Dude of the Weekend, Drew Woodcox. The 2020 McLennan signee from Lamar (TX) tied for the team lead in RBI and showcased good pop at the dish. The RHH stayed on the ball through the zone and really highlighted his ability to drive the ball the other way. Twaddle is a part of the big time recruiting class at McLennan and can be a major contributor for a team that has JUCO World Series aspirations in the spring.

The uncommitted 2023 from Caddo Mills (TX) led the way at the plate for the Tigers as he belted two home runs and did a little bit of everything. The RHH has put together a very impressive summer and has turned heads not only at the plate but on the mound as well. Porter has the potential to be a big time prospect moving forward.

Banditos 16U Scout Team’s Sai Campos was electric on the mound in two outings at the Five Tool Texas 15U-16U Championships. The 2021 Incarnate Word commit from Allen (TX) cruised through innings and located his fastball very effectively in and around the zone. The RHP kept hitters off balance with his curveball and mixed pitches well. Campos can be difficult for hitters to pick up as he throws against his body and generates run in on right handed hitters. Keep an eye on Campos as he will be a name to watch in his senior season and moving forward when he gets to UIW.

C2 Baseball 2022 Black’s Collin McKinney was a strikeout machine in his only outing at the Five Tool Texas 15U-16U Championships. The uncommitted 2022 from Clear Creek (TX) overwhelmed hitters with a mid 80s fastball and a very effective curveball. The RHP features good run on his fastball that and has a very high ceiling on the mound. McKinney already sits in the upper percentile of velocity for his age group and will only continue to add to it over the coming summers. McKinney burst onto the scene this weekend and generated buzz on the showcase circuit. Get on this one.

Texas Twelve Blue 16U’s Hunter Bond was dominant on the mound in the Five Tool Texas 15U-16U Championships. The uncommitted 2022 from A&M Consolidated (TX) mowed down hitters using a very deceptive windup and throwing from a three-quarter arm slot. The LHP tunneled his fastball and slider very effectively and kept hitters guessing all night long. Bond is an intriguing prospect and can be a workhouse on the bump. Look out for this dude down the road.

MVP Baseball Hutto’s Andrew Ender was excellent on the mound at the Five Tool Texas Summer Classic Satellite Series. The uncommitted 2021 from Hutto (TX) was electric as he allowed only three runs to reach base in nine innings of work. The RHP worked in and around the zone and pitched to contact to limit base runners and keep his pitch count low. Ender impressed in his two outings this weekend and can be a dude to eat innings for a college program. Keep an eye out for him down the road.

Austin Gloves’ Walt Bodden IV impressed on the mound in two separate outings on the Five Tool South Texas Summer event. The uncommitted 2021 from Bowie (TX) used a good fastball, mixed pitches well, and had pinpoint control to mow down hitters. The RHP has loose arm action and pitches with emotion on the hill.
