Five Tool Texas 2019 Events
For the 2019 summer, Five Tool Texas will exclusively roll out 18 events in the Houston, North Texas, and Waco areas.
Starting a weekend earlier than the previous year, the DFW Warm-Up will take place in Melissa, TX on May 25-27. This event is a great way to get four games in with social media coverage over the Memorial Day weekend. The following week will be the DFW Kickoff (May 31-June 2) which returns for its second year in a row. This event attracted over 90 teams in 2018 as clubs eagerly prepare for the long summer ahead.
Five Tool Texas will roll out its Regional events (June 6-9) with one in Houston and one in DFW. This is the perfect way for regional teams from those areas to qualify, with a win, for the National Five Tool Show events in the coming weeks. The Five Tool Show labeled national events are invite only whereas the Regional events are open to all.
Three National events are planned to run through Five Tool Texas. The classic Five Tool Show 15U/16U Championships will be on June 20-23 in the DFW metroplex. This event last year attracted 36 MLB scouts and colleges. On July 11-14, the Five Tool Show 17U Championships will also be in the DFW metroplex. This event attracted 53 MLB scouts and colleges in 2018. Traditionally, these two Five Tool events have been the most scouted events, with schools sending multiple coaches, as they attract the top talent from across the country to participate. Again, both Five Tool Show labeled national events are invite only.
To help end the year, the Five Tool World Series (July 24-28) is the last National event planned. This event at Premier Baseball of Texas saw 46 MLB scouts and colleges in attendance in 2018. Over 70 teams participated in the event battling for the bragging rights to call themselves the best team in Five Tool for the 2018 summer. Look for more teams and the same top competition in 2019.
Currently, there are two ways to qualify for AABC events through Five Tool. The winner of the Five Tool Texas AABC WS Qualifier (June 11-16 in Tomball, TX) will receive a $10,000 travel stipend for the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, NM to play in front of 6,000-7,000 fans. The format will be two double elimination pools with the winners playing in a best two-out-of-three championship round.
There’s also the AABC Mickey Mantle Regional Powered by Five Tool Texas. This is strictly for 16U teams to qualify for the AABC 16U Mickey Mantle World Series in Connecticut. Five Tool will be running the social media coverage in full for this event.
Lastly, Five Tool Texas is rolling out its Satellite Series events. These will have the same great competition as other Five Tool events, but come with limited social media coverage. The following Five Tool Texas Satellite Series events are listed below:
June 20-23: Five Tool Texas North Texas Classic Satellite Series (Melissa, TX)
June 27-30: Five Tool Texas Summer Showdown Satellite Series (Melissa, TX)
July 24-28: Five Tool Texas Satellite World Series (Melissa, TX)
