Pocket Radar Five Tool Texas Hot List (July 5-15)

Halfway through the month of July, we take a quick look at the top velocities recorded by Pocket Radar at our Texas region from July 5-15.

When looking through the list, players are sorted by their top fastball velocities. Change up, curveball and sliders that were recorded are placed on the list as well. There are duplicate players for those who participated in more than one Five Tool Texas event.

The leader with the hardest fastball in all Five Tool events this year is Oklahoma Fuel RHP Nate Wohlgemuth. The uncommitted prospect out of Owasso (OK) 2020 hit 96 MPH in the Five Tool Texas 17U Championship. Check out the video of the Pocket Radar Five Tool 90 Club member below:

More uncommitted arms made noise in the Five Tool Texas 17U Championship. Among the hardest throwers was Bodi Rascon. The 2019 LHP out of Decatur (TX) was up to 91 MPH with a 80-81 MPH slider. Against Academy Select Baseball 17U Hayes, Rascon threw four innings striking out five with no earned runs allowed. Check him out below:

Other uncommitted top arms of note include Wichita Twins 17U RHP Gage Singer from Aurora (MO) 2019, Marucci Elite TX 2019 Rodriguez RHP Jamison Simmons from Port Neches-Groves (TX) 2019, and C3 Futures Worley RHP Brett Huff from Liberty Christian Prep (TX) 2019.

The Arlington A’s rolled out two interesting 90 MPH arms at the 17U Championships. First, RHP Kyle Wilson out of Central (TX) 2019 was up to 91 MPH. Check him out in the video below. Following him up was RHP Ben Johnson out of Lake Dallas (TX) 2019. He sat 88-90 MPH with a 75-77 MPH curveball.
