Five Tool Power Hitters at the 2021 AABC Don Mattingly World Series

By:Brenna Barkley

The first two days of the 2021 AABC Don Mattingly World Series have definitely shown power at the plate.

Stix Baseball 2022 Scout’s Damian Bravo started his tournament off on a high note on Tuesday as he gave his team the lead with a two-run home run to left field in the top of the sixth inning.

Starting the day off on Wednesday with a grand slam was GPS Legends baseball 17U Puffer’s Pierce George. The ball was crushed into left field on the second day of the tournament.

Not once, but twice on Tuesday afternoon did  Twelve Recruits 2022 Maroon’s Justin Vossos go deep. The Texas A&M commit hit a two-run home run to right center field and then went deep to left for a three-run shot.  Vossos’s power continued into day two of the tournament as well as he hit a triple to right center field.

Another multi home run day came from Albuquerque Baseball Academy 2022 Lehman’s Gene Trujillio. The uncommitted ‘23s second home run of the day came in the form of a two run blast to right center field.

As the tournament continues, more athletes continue to hit for power at the plate.
