60-plus commits out of Five Tool Showcases Summer 2017
The goal for Five Tool Showcases during events is to help players get the opportunities to play at the next level. Be it junior college, D1, professional baseball, or any of the in-between, Five Tool strives to help high school baseball prospects get the chance to play an extra year upon graduation.
In 2017, Five Tool saw an extraordinary amount of commits coming from the summer showcases and events. To our knowledge, a total of 60 players (and counting) have been given the chance to further their baseball player career in college.
Some of the more outstanding stories come when a player pops up directly on the radar of a host school’s coaching staff. For example, HP Baseball’s J.J. Goss (Cy-Ranch 2019) pitched at Texas A&M with their staff on hand on July 1 (see below) during the Five Tool Houston event. On August 18, Goss committed to the Aggies.

Another great story out of Five Tool is Angelo State University and the Rams’ four commitments from this summer’s events. The reason ASU sticks out is become this was the school’s first experience with Five Tool and they were able to nab Bryson Hudgens (Dallas Tigers Durham/Argyle HS 2018), Cameron Johnson (Round Rock Express Puffer/Copperas Cove HS 2018), Connor Hart (Dallas Mustangs/Plano HS 2018), Ryan Puyear (Dallas Tigers Johnson/John Horn HS 2018), and Wallace Jones (HP Baseball/Jersey Village HS 2018) out of events.
